TVS Apache VS BAJAJ Pulsar

The various models of Apache bike introduced by TVS was delivered to give stiff competition to the current king of the 150cc and 180cc plus quick pick up segment, Bajaj Pulsar. The Apache develops 13.5PS of power and has a good power to weight ratio to boot. Apache TVS’s new stunner occupied centre stage at the company stall. This 150cc bike has won quite a few accolades in less then a month after launch. But the USP for the bike is its styling, which is easily the finest we have seen on an Indian mass produced motorcycle. The company also showcased the latest iteration of its 125cc motorcycle, the Victor GLX. The GLX hitherto has not sold well for various reasons.

TVS therefore, introduced the Edge, basically a variant of the GLX sporting the same engine and gearbox, was launched with improved suspension and styling borrowed from the 110cc Victor GL. The bike also comes with alloy wheels and thicker tyres.

Reasons why Apache Models from TVS was not a major success when compared to Bajaj Pulsar

–  Apart from its Unique Selling Proposition – The style of the bike no other feature is new or an add on

– Poor mileage

– Design makes the Driver uncomfortable while driving on Indian roads causing lower back pain

– Spares are expensive

– High maintenance and regular servicing is required
